What is a Tag?

Tags are similar to attributes, but they are less structured.

In Opal, a tag is an attribute you can edit and manage.

One use case is that when users add a tag to a specific resource, Opal recognizes these and imports them into the app.

It’s also possible to use templates to spin up compute instances or databases. These templates automatically add a tag to the resource and Opal periodically scans and imports these resources without manual effort.
